ACMC in the News02/01/19 - Carris Health Welcomes Oncologist/Hematologist, Dr. Kevin Cockerill and Hospitalist, Dr. Irma CockerillCarris Health is pleased to announce the addition of husband and wife physicians, Drs. Kevin and Irma Cockerill to our health care team.
Dr. Kevin Cockerill earned his BS and his M.D. from the University of Nebraska-Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska., where he also completed his internship in Internal Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Affiliated Hospitals in Albuquerque and went on for a Fellowship in Hematology with Mayo Clinic Rochester and a Fellowship in Medical Oncology with the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Hospital & Tumor Institute in Houston, Texas. Prior to his new role with Carris Health, Dr. Kevin Cockerill was a Consultant in the Division of Medical Oncology/Hematology with Mayo Clinic. He is also an Assistant Professor of Oncology with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
She earned her BA in Chemistry from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She then completed her post-sophomore fellowship in Pathology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she also went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Shen then completed her Categorical Internal Medicine Internship with Texas University Regional Academic Health Center in El Paso, Texas and her Internal Medicine Residency was with the University of New Mexico Health Science Center in Albuquerque. She completed her Fellowship in Clinical Nephrology with the University of California, San Francisco - San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Irma Cockerill most recently practiced as a Hospitalist/Nocturnist with the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Drs. Kevin and Irma Cockerill are relocating to the Willmar area from Mankato where they have spent the last 16 years in practice with Mayo Health System. Join us in welcoming Drs.
