Scope of Practice
Family Medicine is a medical specialty that emphasizes comprehensive medical care for families as a whole and as individual members, caring for patients from birth to advanced age.
Medical concerns are managed through diagnosis, treatment and prevention of common illnesses and chronic diseases taking into account genetics, family history and mental health. Family physicians also coordinate and manage patient care with other specialists.
Added qualification in Geriatrics, adult cardiology and ECG interpretation.

Biography
I am a family physician with special interest in geriatrics, emergency medicine, pre hospital care and cardiology. I have helped develop the CALS (Comprehensive Advanced Life Support) Course for the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians. I am active in teaching medical students, residents and other health care professionals including the medical personnel who staff the U.S. embassies throughout the world. I have been named Minnesota Rural Health Hero in 2001, Physician of the Year in 2001 by MN Academy of Family Physicians and Physician of the Year in 2003 by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
