Scope of Practice
Specializes in the care of infants, children and adolescents as a primary care provider or by referral for more serious health issues. Provide well child visits and outpatient and inpatient care for ill children, and coordinate and manage care with other specialists.
Pediatric coverage for newborn/obstetric related care, Level II nursery care (Willmar only) and stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport to Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Practice includes comprehensive information and care of any children's health issues such as:
- Growth and development
- Nutrition, including obesity and weight control
- Illness and injury
- Immunizations
- Asthma
- Behavioral problems
- Learning or physical disabilities
- Teen issues
