Oncology
ACMC's Oncology Department develops and manages individualized treatment plans for adult patients with most types of cancer. Patients of all ages (including infants) can be referred to chemotherapy for treatment. The department closely manages a patient's care with their primary and specialty physicians. When needed, patients are referred to ACMC surgical departments, radiation oncology at the Willmar Regional Cancer Center (WRCC) at Rice Memorial Hospital, or outside specialists for acute leukemia or other unusual cancers. (The Willmar Regional Cancer Center is a joint venture between Rice Memorial Hospital and ACMC.)

The specialty trained chemotherapy staff provides treatment through IV, ports, catheters and pumps. They are also skilled in cosyntropin stimulation testing, phlebotomy, and specialty IV's such as Remicade and cortisone. Physicians outside the ACMC network can refer directly to chemotherapy for any of these services.
